Overwhelming Response Fills Church With Donated Goods For Tornado Victims
Piles of donated women's, men's and children's clothes are stacked two feet high on a dozen tables that have overtaken the sanctuary of Faith Tabernacle Church of Pekin. Mounds of garbage bags filled with more donated clothes line the walls and the overflow fills a semi trailer stationed outside the church. The Sunday service on Memorial weekend had to be held in the basement of the church because of the outpouring of donations for South Pekin, Illinois tornado victims.

Health Tip: Swing Set Safety
Take precautions to keep your child safe

(HealthDay News) -- Children's swing sets must be properly selected and assembled to prevent serious injury.

Here are recommendations on choosing and assembling a swing set, from the U.S. National Safety Council:

    * Make sure the equipment is very sturdy, and look for sets that can be changed or upgraded to accommodate your child's growth.
    * Secure the legs of the set in below-ground concrete. If you use anchors that come with the set, keep them below ground. Make sure all cables are taut. Cap any screws or bolts.
    * Slides should not be too steep -- no more than a 30-degree slope. The slide must have tall sides to prevent falls, and an area at the bottom where children can regain balance and sit upright.
    * Avoid sets with "S" hooks, or any parts that can pinch, cut or crush small fingers. Avoid any rings that are less than 5 inches or greater than 10 inches in diameter.
    * In general, equipment should not be higher than 8t feet tall. And metal equipment, used in hot weather, can lead to burns.

Automated Vehicle Tracking

Vehicle Tracking (V-TRAC) is a custom computer application that uses Geographic Positioning System (GPS) data to track progress of the City of San Diego's Environmental Services Department's (ESD) refuse collection packers and helps provide more efficient service to City residents. Each collection packer is equipped with a GPS system that sends information via satellite on a vehicle's location, and activity each time the packer's automated arms lift. Collection Supervisors are then able to access this information on their fleet's progress from their desktop computers or laptop computers in the field. This system helps determine participation rates and tonnages collected per household as well as ensure customers receive quick response to missed collection.
